A book rack is a small desk top book case.
This sort of book shelf is also known as a book seat and is the ideal solution for the storage of books which are frequently in use. Book seats are difficult to find now, and that although they have been very popular in the past, their usefulness seems to have been forgotten.

Recently a biographer commissioned me to make him a book seat. He needed something elegant to keep on his desk where he could easily reach the reference books he needed whilst researching his latest biography. He was elated by his acquisition and this now seems to have rekindled an interest in this very useful piece of furniture

We have since made many books seats in a range of designs for a variety of situations, such as Cookery books in the kitchen, novels by the bedside and reference books in the study.

Material:
We make our Book Racks from beautiful locally grown Beech. Our Book Racks are also available made to order in other locally grown hardwoods eg Oak, Ash, Cherry, Sycamore and Elm (when available, Prices from £160).

Finish:
Each Book Rack is carefully hand finished and then polished using natural oils.

Dimensions:
The Book Rack measures 440mm long, 220 mm high and 200mm deep. Our Book Racks have been carefully designed to accommodate a range of book sizes from small paperbacks to larger hardbacks.

Assembly: We normally dispatch our Book Racks fully assembled, but if you prefer we can also dispatch them "flat packed"  - please add a note to request this when ordering.
