"Appreciate the beauty of
local wood"

Living with wood:
This
section is about where we work, our
workshop & showroom and the techniques we use to make our fine
furniture. From here there are links to pages about the wood
we use and converting locally grown trunks into
planks with our sawmill
.

|
Commissioned furniture:
Most
of our work is making bespoke
contemporary hardwood furniture from locally grown timber. In this
section
there is information on how to commission a piece of furniture and
links
to photographs of some examples of furniture we have made.

Online
Shop: We have a small range of popular items of
furniture and accessories which we make in small batches, and which are
normally available for quick dispatch. At the moment we offer: a range
of coat
hangers , book rack
and
circular
coffee tables made from Ash. There is also a link to
our terms
& conditions which apply to our online shop
and this web
site.

Solar
Kiln: After saw-milling, the planks undergo two
stages of seasoning, "air drying" followed by "kiln drying". The kiln
drying removes the correct amount of moisture from the planks so they
are
ready to be made into furniture suitable for a centrally heated
home. Conventional kilns are heated with fossil fuels. We use a
solar powered kiln which apart from using little energy, dries the
planks
thoroughly - essential for fine furniture. From this page there is a
link
to a slide show about Solar kilns
